Biography
Karen Vincent was appointed to
the position of Muskingum County Recorder
in January of 1996 and was elected to office in November, 1996 to serve a four
year term. She was re-elected in 2000, 2004 and 2008.
Prior to being elected as Recorder, Karen worked as a deputy in the Muskingum
County Recorder’s Office.
Since becoming Recorder, Karen has been very active with the Ohio Recorders’ Association (ORA). She has been a past
chair and member of the Continuing Education and Legislative
Committees, and has served on various other committees for
the association. Vincent is also a past member of the Ohio Council of County
Officials (OCCO) where she served with other county elected officials to
monitor legislation for all associations. In 2008, Karen was selected to serve
as Secretary for the ORA at their annual winter conference. Serving on the
statewide Executive Committee is a five year commitment where Recorder Vincent will advance through the leadership
positions of Treasurer,
Vice-President, and President of the association. Her final year will be served
as ex-officio on the Executive Committee.
Locally, Karen has been involved
with various organizations that include Muskingum County Community Foundation
Council, Beaux Arts Club, Muskingum County Township Association, and Farm
Bureau. She is also the chair for the Government Division of the 2009-2010 United Way
campaign. Karen has also been involved
with many charitable organization fundraisers, including the Carr Center Cake
Auction, Operation Feed and Lace Up for Kids Sake.
A lifelong resident of Muskingum County,
Karen is a member of the Grace United Methodist
Church and resides in Zanesville with her
husband, Dan.
